Frequently Asked Questions

First time receiving Massage? We’ve got you covered!

We take time to do a proper intake when meeting before your first massage. Your health intake form will give us an idea of any chronic pain or stressors, injuries or health issues and what your massage goals are.

We will discuss with you at this time what we plan on focusing on during your massage. Pressure of massage can be adjusted according to your preference at any point during your session, and your therapist will check in with you to make sure it is comfortable for you.

Generally massage is performed unclothed, however you may wish to wear under garments during your massage. You will be covered with a sheet throughout the entire massage, and only the area being worked on will be exposed. If you are uncomfortable at any point, please inform your therapist.

Adjustments can be made to ensure you are as comfortable as possible during your massage. Massage can be performed anytime of day, but we suggest taking it easy after receiving a massage so that the work we do is not lost with strenuous movement. Massage therapy releases toxins that are stored in muscles and increases lymphatic flow in the body, so it is extremely important to hydrate well after your massage.

A typical full body massage covers all areas of the body including head and neck, arms, back, glutes, legs, feet and chest. However if you have specific issues that need more work, we may spend more time working on your problem areas and skip other areas that may not need as much attention at this visit.
If there are any areas you do not want massaged, that is no problem. There is a space to indicate this in your health intake form.
